Abstract
Saat ini masih ada peserta didik yang memiliki keterampilan public speaking rendah. Peserta didik dengan keterampilan public speaking rendah akan mengalami kesulitan untuk menyampaikan pendapatnya dan kurang percaya diri untuk tampil di depan umum atau orang banyak. Keterampilan public speaking diperlukan oleh peserta didik untuk melatih mental dan juga melatih keterampilan berbicara khususnya berbicara di depan publik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas bimbingan kelompok menggunakan teknik role playing untuk meningkatkan keterampilan public speaking pada peserta didik.
Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian Eksperimen dengan metode Quasy Eksperimental Design dengan menggunakan pretest-posttest design yang dilaksanakan dari mulai pretest, pemberian treatment dan diakhiri dengan posttest. Populasi terjangkau pada penelitian ini yaitu peserta didik kelas X MIPA SMA Negeri 2 Kroya yang memiliki keterampilan public speaking rendah. Metode pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode angket pretest-posttest dan observasi.
Berdasarkan hasil dari pretest dan posttest yang telah dilakukan pada kelompok eksperimen menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan. Hasil penghitungan Independent samples test diperoleh nilai sig.(2-tailed) yaitu 0,000 < 0,05. Jadi, dapat diartikan bahwa bimbingan kelompok mengguakan teknik role playing efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan public speaking pada peserta didik.

Cilacap: Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Nahdlatul Ulama University Al Ghazali Cilacap, January 2021. Currently there are students who have low public speaking skills. Students with low public speaking skills will have difficulty expressing their opinions and are not confident about appearing in public or in crowds. Public speaking skills are needed by students to train mentally and also practice speaking skills, especially speaking in public. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of group guidance using role playing techniques to improve public speaking skills in students.
This research includes experimental research with the Quasy Experimental Design method using the pretest-posttest design which is carried out from the start of the pretest, giving treatment and ending with the posttest. The affordable population in this study were students of class X MIPA at SMA Negeri 2 Kroya who had low public speaking skills. Methods of data collection in this study using a pretest-posttest questionnaire method and observation.
Based on the results of the pretest and posttest that have been carried out in the experimental group, it shows a significant increase. The results of the calculation of the Independent samples test obtained a sig. (2-tailed) value, namely 0.000 <0.05. So, it can be interpreted that group guidance using effective role playing techniques to improve public speaking skills in students.
