Abstract

Jagung merupakan komoditas terbesar ke-2 di Indonesia karena Indonesia menjadi negeri agraris. Selain digunakan untuk menjadi makanan pokok masyarakat Indonesia, jagung juga banyak divariatifkan menjadi tepung jagung, kripik jagung, juga digunakan menjadi makanan ternak, Oleh karena itu diperlukannya mesin pemipil jagung yang efisien dalam melakukan pemipilan biji jagung. Adapun mesin pemipil jagung sudah banyak beredar di kalangan masyarakat namun hasilnya kurang maksimal maka dari itu penulis menjadikannya modifikasi dari bagian poros dan mata pemipil sehingga jagung dapat terpipil dengan maksimal. Proses Modifikasi Mesin Pemipil Jagung Type Silinder Screw ini maka dilakukan pengujian untuk mencari Rendemen dan Efisiensi Alat. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian Research And Development Pengujian yang tlah dilakukan maka didapatkan hasil rendemen dengan rata-rata 72% sedangkan untuk hasil efisiensi alat didapatkan hasil dengan rata-rata 85% dari masing masing dilakukan dengan 3 kali uji coba dengan jagung berdiamer rata-rata 5-7 cm dengan panjang rata-rata 14-15 cm. sedangkan dalam melakukan pengujian selama 3 kali uji coba menggunakan masing-masing 3 Kg jagung.

Corn is the second largest commodity in Indonesia because Indonesia is an agricultural country. Apart from being used as a staple food for the Indonesian people, corn is also widely varied into corn flour, corn chips, and is also used as animal feed. Therefore, an efficient corn sheller machine is needed in shelling corn seeds. The corn sheller machine has been widely circulated among the public, but the results are not optimal, therefore the author makes it a modification of the shaft and sheller eye so that the corn can be crushed to the maximum. The process of modifying the Cylindrical Screw Type Corn Sheller Machine is then tested to find the yield and efficiency of the tool. In this study using the Research And Development research method. Tests that have been carried out have resulted in yields with an average of 72%, while for the efficiency of the equipment, the results have been obtained with an average of 85% of each carried out with 3 trials with corn of an average diameter. 5-7 cm in average with an average length of 14-15 cm. while in doing the test for 3 trials using 3 Kg of corn each.
