Abstract
Penelititian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh keluhan para wali murid yang menceritakan melalui musyawarah bersama antara Ketua Yayasan, Kepala Sekolah, dan Guru-guru untuk dapat menerapkan kebijakan program yang ada di sekolah. Karena dengan adanya kebijakan program yang dibuat dapat mendukung dan meningkatkat kualitas capaian belajar siswa. Salah satu kegiatan program yang ada disekolah adalah implementasi program wajib pesantren yang diterapkan khususnya kepada tingkatan anak kelas IV dan umumnya untuk tingkatan kelas lainnya. Yang bertujuan agar anak-anak terdidik dengan baik sejak usia dini dan terbentuk karakter yang berakhlakul karimah melalui pembiasaan pendidikan di pesantren.
Penelitian ini berjenis penelitian lapangan dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif. Penelitian ini bertempat di SD IT Miftahul Huda 520 Ciporos Karang Pucung Cilacap. Subjek penelitian ini adalah para tokoh masyarakat, seperti: Ketua Yayasan, Kepala Sekolah, Guru atau Pengurus Pesantren, Wali Murid dan Perwakilan Siswa. Data-data yang berkaitan dengan penilitian tentang implementasi program wajib pesantren dalam pembentukan karakter di kelas IV SD IT Miftahul Huda 520 Ciporos Karang Pucung ini pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi.
Setelah melakukan pengumpulan data serta dianalisis, maka penelitian ini dapat menghasilkan beberapa temuan, diantaranya: (1) sejarah terbentuknya program wajib pesantren yang telah disetujui oleh wali murid dan pihak yayasan, karena program pesantren menjadi bagian penting dalam pendidikan untuk pembentukan karakter anak; (2) Rangkaian program yang akan dicapai oleh anak-anak siswa yang mengikuti program pesantren; (3) Nilai-nilai karakter terdiri dari: Religius, Kedisiplinan, Kejujuran, Tanggung Jawab. Kemandirian dan Nasionalis; (4) Perubahan karakter dilakukan melalui beberapa tahapan, antara lain: tahapan pengajaran, pembinaan, pembiasaan pemberian motivasi. Perubahan karakter yang terlihat dalam mengikuti program wajib pesantren, seperti: membiasakan solat berjamaah lima waktu, disiplin dalam menaati peraturan, kemandirian dalam menjalni kehidupan di pesantren dan nasionalis dengan saling tolong menolong dan saling menghormati satu sama lain.

This research was motivated by complaints from parents who said that through joint deliberations between the Head of the Foundation, the Principal and the Teachers to be able to implement existing program policies at the school. Because the program policies created can support and improve the quality of student learning outcomes. One of the program activities in schools is the implementation of the mandatory Islamic boarding school program which is applied especially to grade IV children and generally to other grade levels. The aim is for children to be well educated from an early age and to form characters with good morals through educational habits in Islamic boarding schools.
This research is field research using a descriptive approach. This research took place at SD IT Miftahul Huda 520 Ciporos Karang Pucung Cilacap. The subjects of this research are community leaders, such as: Foundation Chair, School Principal, Teacher or Islamic Boarding School Administrator, Student Guardian and Student Representative. Data relating to research on the implementation of the mandatory Islamic boarding school program in character formation in class IVSD IT Miftahul Huda 520 Ciporos Karang Pucung is data collection in the form of observations, interviews and documentation.
After data collection and analysis, this research was able to produce several findings, including: (1) the history of the formation of the mandatory Islamic boarding school program which was approved by the parents and the foundation, because Islamic boarding school programs are an important part of education for the formation of children's character; (2) A series of programs that will be achieved by students participating in the Islamic boarding school program; (3) Character values consist of: Religiousness, Discipline, Honesty, Responsibility. Independence and Nationalism; (4) Changes in character are carried out through several stages, including: teaching, coaching, getting used to giving motivation. Changes in character that can be seen in following the mandatory Islamic boarding school program, such as: getting used to five daily congregational prayers, discipline in obeying the rules, independence in living life in the Islamic boarding school and nationalism by helping each other and respecting each other.
